Library update: Music by the Polka Dot Zebras, Hot Wheels stories, Teen Smash Bros. coming up

The Rice Lake Public Library, at 2 E. Marshall St., has announced its upcoming events for the last week in July.

Supplies and patterns will be available for children to make their own sparkling microphone on Thursday, July 25, at 3:30 p.m. and encouraged to stay for a 4:30 p.m. performance by the Polka Dot Zebras, an interactive event encouraging children to sing, dance and perform.

Cool summertime drink options will be included in the library's coffee and coloring program on Monday, July 29, at 10:30 a.m. De-stress with some coloring therapy. Coloring tools and pages will be available.

A Hot Wheels themed storytime is back for another lap of books, playing and crafts on Tuesday, July 30, at 10:30 a.m. Children are encouraged to bring along their favorite Hot Wheels vehicle.

Lakeland Family Resource Center is partnering with the library to bring its Free Diaper Bank and Car Seat safety program to Rice Lake during the Tuesday, July 30, story time. Free diapers/pull ups, wipes, car seat education, resources and more will be available from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be free car seat checks as well as free car seats available for families in need while supplies last. Teen Smash Bros., an event for young people in grades 6-12, will take place on the first floor of the library on July 30 at 5 p.m. Preregister in-person to participate in the Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Switch tournament. Prizes provided and spectators welcome. Bring a friend!
