Registration for Rice Lake Junior Football open; tackle camp to be held next week

Registration for youth football in Rice Lake is open.

Rice Lake Junior Football offers flag football for grades third through sixth and tackle football for seventh and eighth graders.

Third- and fourth-grade flag football begins in early September and runs for 4-5 weeks with games and practices on Saturdays. Fifth- and sixth-grade flag football begins Aug. 12 and 13 with player evaluations. Games and practices are Mondays and Tuesdays beginning Aug. 19.

Tackle football for seventh and eighth graders starts Aug. 12 with practices held weekdays 5:30-8 p.m. prior to school starting, and after school to 6 p.m. once the school year begins. The season runs through early October.

Rice Lake Junior Football will also be holding tackle football camp for seventh and eighth graders next week, Monday through Thursday. The camp is 5-8 p.m. each night and is being led by high school varsity coaches and players.

Equipment pick-up for the tackle football camp is Sunday, with eighth graders scheduled for 5-6 p.m. and seventh graders at 6-7 p.m.
