Rice Lake Babe Ruth goes undefeated in Heart O' North Conference

The Rice Lake Babe Ruth baseball team went unbeaten in the Heart O' North Conference regular season and league tournament this summer.

The Warriors went 12-0 in the regular season and won all three games in the year-end tournament to finish as the Heart O' North champions.

In its 12 regular season games in the Heart O' North, Rice Lake averaged nearly 14 runs per game and outscored its opponents 167-43. The offense led the conference in runs scored and the Warriors' 3.6 runs allowed per game ranked second.

Rice Lake had a one-game lead over second place Cameron as the Warriors defeated the Comets 5-3 in their only regular season matchup.

Rice Lake had six batters hit better than .400 on the season and had five with on-base percentages greater than .600. The pitching staff combined for 1.72 earned-run average and .137 batting average against.

The defense for the Warriors had a 93% fielding percentage and turned four double plays.
