Country Roads Trust, WVU’s name, image and likeness collective, is set to host the 2024 Pad2Pad Football Kickoff Dinner. The event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 6 p.m. at Milan Puskar Stadium and will feature appearances by WVU Football Head Coach Neal Brown, former WVU Men’s Basketball player and Boston Celtics Head Coach Joe Mazzulla and a performance by country music artist and Morgantown native Charles Wesley Godwin.
WVU women’s basketball opens trip with 94-44 win over Rome Selects
ROME, Italy – The West Virginia University women’s basketball team opened its foreign tour with a 50-point, 94-44 win over Rome Selects on Thursday. The Mountaineers led the whole way after jumping out to a 21-13 lead in the opening quarter. At halftime, WVU extended its lead to 28 points, 49-21. The Mountaineers limited Rome Selects to just eight points in the second quarter. West Virginia outscored Rome Selects 18-13 in the third quarter and 25-10 in the fourth to cruise to a 50-point win.
Local library to teach cryptid art class

WVU wide receiver Preston Fox is receiving national recognition for his versatility. On Thursday, Fox was named to the initial 2024 Paul Hornung Award Watch List. According to the Louisville Sports Commission, The Paul Hornung Award is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission in memory of the late football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung. The winner and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award dinner in Louisville, Kentucky, in March 2025.
