Richfield companies that are hiring despite the COVID-19 pandemic

(RICHFIELD, ID.) Hiring is increasing nationwide, a sign the labor market might be beginning to tighten as these companies open positions in Richfield.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, nonfarm payrolls rose by 916,000 in March, the most recent month available, and the unemployment rate fell 0.2% percentage points to 6.0%.

The change amounted to a sharp uptick in hiring in the economy over the previous month, more than doubling the 379,000 jobs added in February. That brought the total number of unemployed people in the country down to 9.7 million

But while the increase showed improvement in the economy, unemployment nationwide in March was still up 2.5 percentage points from its level in February 2020, showing the ongoing effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the U.S. economy.

The total number of unemployed people in March was likewise close to double its pre-pandemic level.
