A Chenango County man is dead after a head-on collision in the Town of Brookfield Tuesday afternoon. New York State Police report Dominick E. Brown, 44, from New Berlin was driving a pickup truck southbound on NY-8 when he crossed over the double yellow line into the opposite, striking an SUV driven by a 63-year-old woman woman from Leonardsville.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that New York State recently hosted the 2024 “Raven’s Challenge,” the world’s largest annual training exercise for public safety bomb squads and military explosive ordnance disposal teams at the State Preparedness Training Center (SPTC) in Oriskany, NY. Bomb technicians and military personnel representing various places around New York State, the country, and the world, including Germany, Poland, Ukraine, and Canada, participated in the exercise and engaged in training on response tactics for improvised explosive devices.

TC3 Professor Earns Community College Internationalization Fellowship
TC3 announced on Thursday that a one of their professors has won a Community College International Fellowship (CCIF). Christine Evans, an adjunct associate Spanish professor, has been assigned with creating a literature supplement for TC3’s Beginning Spanish II course through Cornell University’s world areas studies programs. With prior CCIF fellowship experience – having previously worked on integrating digital content into Spanish classes during the COVID-19 impacted academic years – Evans hopes to also find readings useful in other courses as well.
