Scammers using Monroe PD’s phone number to spoof residents
MONROE, Wis. (WMTV) - Monroe Police’s phone number is being spoofed and used to make scam phone calls, the department said Tuesday. The department’s general phone number of (608) 329-2400 appears on the recipient’s phone, then the caller asks for normally protected identifying information including social security numbers, dates of birth and other information that could compromise an identity.
Wisconsin dental clinic breaks ground on new clinic to double patient volume
Madison, Wis.-based Affordable Dental Care recently broke ground on its new office that will help the nonprofit double its patient volume, Madison 365 reported July 1. The nonprofit clinic announced earlier this year that it was expanding to meet increased patient demand. Additionally, the clinic said on its website that the new office will allow it to reduce its current two- to five-month wait times, better handle emergency cases, integrate advanced technology and enhance its community outreach and educational initiatives.

Barton waives preliminary hearing, is bound over for trial
Facing 20 felonies related to allegations of theft from the Wilton Village Office, former clerk/treasurer Leigha Barton waived her right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday. At a preliminary hearing, the prosecution shows evidence that the defendant may have committed a crime. Though the preliminary hearing was waived, Monroe County Circuit Judge Todd Ziegler determined there was probable cause and bound over Barton for trial. Ziegler entered a non-guilty plea on Barton’s behalf.

Tragedy For A De Pere Church Family
