ROCKINGHAM — Two Hoke County teens have been charged in the fatal shooting of a Richmond County teen.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday morning announced the arrest of 18-year-old Kevin Jonathan Murphy and an unnamed 17-year-old, both of Raeford, in the death of 17-year-old Damarion Wall.

Wall was reportedly shot and killed Tuesday, July 23 on Lincoln Street, off of Midway Road west of Rockingham.

On Wednesday, the RCSO posted a photo of the suspect vehicle, asking for help with identification.

The two suspects and their vehicle were found in Raeford by investigators, according to the release. The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office was thanked for assistance in the investigation and arrest.

Both were brought back to Richmond County for processing and charged with an open count of murder.

Murphy was booked into the Richmond County Jail and is currently being held without bond, with a court date scheduled for Aug. 15. The 17-year-old was taken to an unnamed juvenile detention facility.

Online court records show Murphy has pending charges in Hoke County of: possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana; maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance; and carrying a concealed gun.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
