Motorcycle riders to honor fallen Richmond police officer on Tuesday

RICHMOND, Ind. —On Tuesday, July 16, a group of motorcycle riders traveling nationwide to honor fallen police officers will be in Richmond to pay tribute to city officer Seara Burton and other officers who have been lost in the line of duty.

The Beyond the Call of Duty celebration riders, from the state of Washington, will be at the Richmond Police Department, 50 N. Fifth St.,for about two hours. They are expected to arrive at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Officer Burton's family will be at the event and will be recognized by the riders.

Officer Burton was shot after being called to assist with a traffic stop on Aug. 10, 2022. She died in a Richmond-area hospice facility 38 days after being wounded.

The public is invited to attend Tuesday's event.
