    👩‍💼 Questions with a community leader 👨‍💼

This week, I spoke to Patty Trace, executive director of the Martha Dwyer Community Center. Trace has been with the center for nine years, which provides a vast variety of services such as the Wayne County Diaper Project and the feminine hygiene project, as well as providing rent space for weddings, family reunions, baby showers, etc.

Q: How did you end up in your role?

I was hired by Susan Isaacs, and then when we decided to create the service site, which is Dwyer Community Center, I was able to take on the director position.

Q: What is a typical day for you?

It kind of depends on what's happening. Usually we're preparing and planning workshops. We do a lot of collaborating with different agencies, just trying to get good things out into the community that people would be interested in attending.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

Well, I am a bike rider, so I like to ride my bike. I'm a gardener. Animals. Art museums. I like a little bit of everything. I particularly like going to concerts. If it's out there, I want to go check it out and see. I'm naturally curious.
