Richmond woman charged after vandalizing stranger's Tesla Cybertruck

BELLBROOK, Ohio — A 29-year-old Richmond woman was arrested and charged last week with criminal damaging or endangering, a misdemeanor, after allegedly vandalizing a stranger's Tesla Cybertruck.

In a report by the Bellbrook Police Department, Courtney K. Piotrowski pulled into the driveway of Daniel Lee Herres at 2:52 p.m. on July 15 and "proceeded to smash all the windows and tail pieces on a Tesla pickup" before driving away from the scene while flashing a peace sign at him.

Security footage from Herres' property also showed two young children in Piotrowski's vehicle crying, according to the report.

Sometime before she was arrested by the Sugar Creek Township Police Department, Piotrowski had allegedly knocked over two propane tanks at the house of one of Herres' neighbors, and when the homeowner, Michael Harr, confronted her, Piotrowski stated that "the owl is calling me" and went over to take a photo of the garden owl in his yard.

The report adds that as she was leaving Harr's property, she allegedly screamed at him, "This is not Nazi Germany," "They are after us" and "the Japanese and everybody else."

In an interview, Herres told Ohio station WHIO-TV 7 that the damage will cost him about $10,000 in repairs and will force him to shut down the ice cream truck business he had just started in May.

Piotrowski is set to appear in Xenia Municipal Court on July 29.
