Water main break reported on Woodland Street
Emporia Public Works crews are in the process of fixing a water main break in northwest Emporia. Crews were called to the 1400 block of Woodland shortly afrter 9 am Monday. Water service will be affected in that immediate residential neighborhood. Other details are currently pending.
Paw Patrol returns to Stormont Vail Events Center in December

Golfers show support at second annual Father Pete O’Sullivan Tournament
The second annual Father Pete O’Sullivan Memorial Golf Tournament was held on Saturday at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course. About 20 teams came out for the four-person scramble event, which began with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. All funds raised will go towards supporting Sacred Heart School. The final amount was not finalized as of press time.
Junction City Brigade will face off with Midwest A's in playoffs
The Junction City Brigade wrapped up their regular season with a record of 23-9. Junction City has won their last nine games, including 12 of their last 13. A new season begins tonight for Junction City, as they are the number one seed in the Mid Plains League playoffs and will face off against the Midwest A's. It is a best two-out-of-three series. Game one of the series is tonight in Junction City at Rathert Field. The first pitch for tonight's game will be at 7:00.
