JWS Art Supplies to move to former location of Evergreen Fine American Crafts
Great Barrington — JWS Art Supplies, previously located at 38 Railroad Street, will be moving to 291 Main Street in the fall. The store will occupy the space that previously housed Evergreen Fine American Crafts. Evergreen operated for 44 years, including 34 years at its Main Street location, until owner Barbara Faecher Watkin announced that she would be closing the store in March.
Dalton Fire District Sees Potential in Former Dalton Garage
DALTON, Mass. — The Dalton Garage would open the doors to so many possibilities, members of the Fire District said during a recent walk-through of the building. The district reconsidered the prospect of purchasing the former automotive garage, located at 385 Main St., across from the fire station, last month. The current fire station, located at 20 Flansburg Ave., is too small, especially with the addition of the ambulance service. The Water Department also needs more space.

Pittsfield Working on Decades-Old Drainage Issue in Ward 3
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The city is working to solve a more than 30-year-old drainage problem on Newell Street. The Public Works and Utilities committee heard an update Monday on a project to address flooding at 9 Newell St. Water runoff reaching the drainage outlet behind the property is flooding it, unable to reach an intermittent stream meant to carry that runoff.
