Salt Lake City, UT – Residents in southwestern Utah should brace for severe thunderstorms this afternoon, with risks of heavy rain, lightning, gusty winds, and possible hail. The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued an alert indicating that these weather conditions will be concentrated in areas such as St. George, Santa Clara, Ivins, and Cedar City after 2 p.m.

Utah State Track & Field Excels: USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors in 2024
LOGAN, Utah — For their performances athletically and academically in 2024, Utah State’s men’s and women’s track & field programs earned All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Individually, 15 Aggies were named All-Academic athletes. The Aggie women, with a GPA of 3.75, and the Aggie men, with a GPA of 3.54, were both recognized as All-Academic Teams for maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 or higher. USU researchers are helping UDOT study vertiports
LOGAN - Vertiports are areas designed for a vertical takeoff and landing of a variety of aerial vehicles. Recently the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) formulated the first concepts for vertiports. For the last three years Utah State University Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning (LAEP) researchers have been helping UDOT study vertiports, to determine where they can be placed in existing infrastructure.

Egyptian Theatre not on venue list for 2025 Sundance Film Festival
The Sundance Film Festival has released the initial details for the 2025 edition starting Jan. 23 in Park City and Salt Lake City. Utah State Football Player Andre Seldon Jr. Dead at 22 After Cliff Diving Accident
Utah State University football player Andre Seldon Jr. has passed away after an apparent cliff-diving accident. He was 22 years old. In a statement on its website, the university revealed that the Cache County Sheriff’s Office had a search underway for a young man after he was seen diving from cliffs at Porcupine Reservoir, but did not resurface.
