LOGAN – Utah State University has gutted its athletics department this July with the firing of three of its senior-level management and one mid-level position within days of each other. Head football coach Blake Anderson, deputy athletic director Jerry Bovee, senior woman administrator Amy Crosbie and football director of player development Austin Albrecht have all been dismissed over alleged failures to report an incident of domestic violence as required by USU policy.
Utah State Football Players Spencer Petras and Jalen Royals Named to Shrine Bowl Watchlist
LOGAN, Utah – Utah State football players Spencer Petras and Jalen Royals have been named to the 2025 Shrine Bowl 1000 Watchlist it was announced on Tuesday. Petras, 6-foot-5, 230-pound graduate senior from San Rafael, California (Marin Catholic HS/Iowa) is in his first season with Utah State after spending six years at Iowa (2018-23) as he played in 37 career games with 31 starts, compiling a 20-11 record as the Hawkeyes starting quarterback. For his career, he has completed 468-of-825 (.567) passes for 5,199 yards with 24 touchdowns and 19 interceptions, while also rushing for 11 scores. He has 10 career 200-yard passing games and has thrown multiple touchdowns in six games, including a career-high three touchdowns twice.

LOGAN, Utah — Utah State's Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, Artie Gulden, announced on Tuesday his program's cross country schedule for the 2024 campaign. "We are excited about this upcoming cross country season," Gulden said. "Our schedule is set to try to give both teams the best opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Championships. We have a good mix of local meets as well as competitions further away. Those meets we have to travel farther distances will give our kids the chance to compete against teams from other NCAA regions. If we can beat some of the best teams from other regions that should give us a great chance to return to NCAAs in November."
