    Wild & Scenic Film Festival

    March 7, 6:15 to 9 p.m., at Studio Two-Three, Richmond

    One evening of top-notch, inspiring, nature-loving short films plus five days of video-on-demand access. Think a blind author and athlete scaling a massive alpine rock face in “Soundscape”; a 6-year-old adventurer in “Brave Girl”; a young couple tackling farming in “Bluebird Sky”; “A Journey Upstream” from the Chesapeake Bay; and more! All to benefit the Chesapeake Bay.

    Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods”

    March 7 to 24 at The Steward School’s Cramer Center for the Arts, Richmond

    Richmond Shakespeare presents an epic fairytale about wishes, family, and the choices we make. James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim have gathered favorite storybook characters for a timeless modern classic.

    Women Write It Down

    March 9, 7 to 9 p.m., at Book People, Richmond

    In honor of Women’s History Month, a panel discussion featuring local authors Kristen Green (author of “The Devil’s Half Acre”), Judy Hart (“A National Park for Women’s Rights”), and Julie Fritz (“Twinings: Poems at Eighty”), moderated by Emmy Award-winning writer Rachel McRady (“Sun Seekers”). The authors discuss their works, motivations in choosing subject matter, and what it’s like to be a female author.

    Mobile Soul Sunday

    March 10, noon to 5 p.m., in Monroe Park, Richmond

    Dig into delicious food from an array of more than 20 local Black food vendors, plus adult beverages and every-age drinks, music from DJ Rayvon, and an art walk and marketplace.

    The Yardbirds in Richmond

    March 14, 8 p.m., at The Tin Pan, Richmond

    The Yardbirds’ co-founder Jim McCarty continues to lead the seminal British Invasion Rock band that provides the link between the Blues, British R&B, Psychedelic Rock, and Heavy Metal, while pioneering the use of innovations like fuzztone, feedback, and distortion. Since 1963 to its 1992 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Yardbirds have been revered for the legendary guitarists, including Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page.
