Virginia Opera presents the Puccini opera with an all-female, all-Asian creative team providing a new twist on the classic production, the story of a young Japanese maiden abandoned by an American officer.

March 23, 2 to 5 p.m., and March 24, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, Richmond

Make your way to the Garden for hundreds of prize-worthy daffodils, talk with expert growers, then wander the grounds for A Million Blooms: cherry blossoms, tulips, and other spring blossoms.

John McEuen & The Circle Band

March 26, 8 p.m., at The Tin Pan, Richmond

A founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1966, McEuen instigated the 1972 classic “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” album, (inducted in to the Library of Congress as “one of America’s most important recordings”). “The String Wizard” brings his banjo, fiddle, guitar, and mandolin, along with stories of his travels and family life, on a journey through music.

Agatha Christie’s “Yellow Iris”: A Radio Play

March 27 – dinner at 5:30, performance at 6:15, at Richmond Community High School Theatre, Richmond

Support talented, hard-working youth while enjoying an evening of “murder, mystery, and a meal.” Just take in the show or come for an Italian dinner beforehand. $10 for dinner and show, FREE or donation for show only.

Chris Thile, Mandolin

March 27, 7:30 p.m., at Camp Concert Hall at University of Richmond

In a program ranging from Bach partitas to rock covers, the Grammy Award-winning mandolinist, singer, songwriter, and founding member of Nickel Creek confronts, cajoles, and cozies up to personal and collective angels, demons, and musical passions.
