How to tour Richmond's best pizza and ice cream spots — at the same time

Richmond has a pizza and ice cream tour.

Why it matters: Sometimes the universe blesses us with exactly what we've been needing and today is that day.

The big picture: The foodie experience from Discover Richmond Tours , one of five they offer, brings participants to three pizza and three ice cream spots in the city via a 14-person bus.

• The idea came from a staff meeting last year — at Bev's Homemade Ice Cream and Café, no less — Discover Richmond's founding owner Brian Beard tells Axios.
• "Pizza and ice cream seemed to be the majority favorite food groups."

The usual stops for pizza (each has a different style) :

• 8 ½, which has locations in Church Hill and the Fan .
• Pizza Bones in Church Hill.
• Zorch Pizza in Carytown.

For ice cream:

• Bev's in Carytown.
• Ruby Scoops in Brookland Park.
• Spotty Dog in Church Hill.

If you go: It'll be around until Nov. 10 for at least twice a month on Sundays.

• It lasts about 4 hours and unlike most of their other food tours, the walking is kept to a minimum of one block at a time, per their website.

What we're watching: Beard tells Axios that the "Chicken and Waffles" tour, which also came up at the brainstorm that inspired the "Pizza and Ice Cream" one, might be brought back.
