Take in the informative re-creations of this 17th-century fort and Native village alongside the temporary exhibition, which showcases photography of the 116th United States Colored Troops (USCT) while they were at the Dutch Gap Canal. See reproduction clothing, gear, and weaponry – touch, examine, feel, or wear it. On June 22, Henricus Interpretation Supervisor John Pagano leads discussions and answers questions. FREE.

“9 to 5, The Musical”

June 21 to Aug. 4, 2024, at the November Theatre, Richmond

The classic film about revenge and empowerment comes to life on a Richmond stage, still featuring the original score by the queen of country music, Dolly Parton.

Summer Nights at the Perk: Chan Hall Trio

Cosmic Chronicles: A Sci-Fi Radio Show

June 27, noon, at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture, Richmond, and online

Leader in the cidery industry and apple expert Diane Flynt upsets the apple cart! Conventional wisdom locates apples and cider firmly in regions outside the South. Flynt offers a new history of apples, one that begins in the American South, transforms the region, and spreads southern apples across the globe. She describes how the South’s rich apple culture faded and how she founded the first modern cidery in the South. In person or live-streaming.
