Kickers take down Forward Madison in dramatic fashion 2-1

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Kickers on Wednesday night dramatically defeated Forward Madison 2-1, scoring the game-winning goal in the 100th minute.

The Kickers game was broadcasted on the CBS Sports Network to a national audience marking the team’s first nationally broadcasted game since the 2019 season.

Richmond took a 1-0 lead in the game in the first half when Emiliano Terzaghi scored his first goal of the season in his first start.

The game would remain 1-0 until the 90th minute when Forward Madison delivered what looked like the heartbreaking goal for Richmond fans. Juan Galindrez scored off a corner to tie the game a 1-1.

Richmond would continue to attack deep into added time. In the 100th minute the Kickers would score an unlikely goal, following a foul Nil Vinyals played in a great ball to Chandler O’Dwyer’s head who got enough on it to find the back of the net.

The goal proved to be the game-winner for Richmond who moves to 3-5-3 on the season and handed Madison their first loss of the year.
