RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — National Hot Dog Day is on Wednesday, July 17, with many places in Richmond to offer this delicious delicacy.

National Hot Dog Day falls on Wednesday, July 17, and 8News has compiled a list of restaurants in Richmond which specialize in hot dogs for those looking to celebrate.

The Doghouse

The Doghouse , located on the 1400 N. Arthur Ashe Blvd., offers a variety of hot dogs , including a “Frito Chili Pie,” which features homemade chili, cheese, onions and crumbled Frito chips for $7.

The restaurant is takeout only with limited outdoor seating, and is open from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

City Dogs

City Dogs , located on 1316 E. Cary Street, offers hot dogs with toppings inspired by U.S. localities , including a “Honolulu Dog” with barbeque sauce, provolone cheese and pineapple chunks. All hot dogs on the menu can be substituted for soy dogs.

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. until midnight on Wednesday.

Ray’s Dog House

Ray’s Dog House is located on 401 N. 1st Street and serves classic hot dogs and toppings, as well as a hot dog egg and cheese, according to Yelp .

The restaurant is open from noon to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Ellie’s Hot Dogs & Ice Cream

Located on 3312 N. Arthur Ashe Blvd., Ellie’s Hot Dogs & Ice Cream offers a pulled pork dog, nacho dog with crushed tortilla chips, a hot dog with Cole slaw and more.

Ellie’s Hot Dogs & Ice Cream is open from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
