VSU and VUU picked atop of preseason CIAA poll at media day

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The CIAA hosted its annual media day in Salem, Virginia on Wednesday and both Virginia State (VSU) and Virginia Union (VUU) were picked to finish atop of the CIAA at the end of the year.

Virginia State was picked to finish first in the CIAA by the conference coaches, while Virginia Union was picked to finish second.

CIAA Preseason Poll:

3. Fayetteville State
4. Johnson C. Smith
5. Bowie State
6. Winston-Salem State
7. Shaw
8. Lincoln (Pa.)
9. Livingstone
10. Elizabeth City State
11. Bluefield State

Multiple Virginia State and Virginia Union athletes were also selected to the preseason All-CIAA Preseason Team.
