    LIST: A guide to farmers markets in Richmond

    RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) –  There are over 20 farmers markets to be found throughout Richmond that everyone can enjoy during the summer months.

    The Virginia Farmers Market Association website has a map showing all the different farmers markets located throughout Virginia. Here is a list of 25 farmer’s markets you can visit in the Richmond area.

    Birdhouse Farmers Market

    • This market runs from May to November every Tuesday from 3 to 6:30 p.m.
    • Vendors sell local produce such as fruit, meat, eggs, dairy, baked goods and food.
    • The Birdhouse Online Farmers Market is operational year-round. Shoppers can purchase items starting at 6 a.m. on Thursday to 3 a.m. on Monday. They can then pick up their purchase on Tuesday.

    Broad Rock Farmers Market

    • First and third Saturday each month from May to October.
    • 3300 Broad Rock Blvd, Richmond, VA 23224.

    Farmers Market at St. Stephen’s

    • Every Saturday:
      • May to September 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
      • October to April 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    • 6000 Grove Ave, Richmond, VA 23226.

    Huguenot-Robious Farmers’ Market

    • Open year-round on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    • 2051 Huguenot Rd, Richmond, VA 23235.

    OnTheSquareVA Farmers Market

    • Each Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    • There are a lot of vendors selling candles, produce, pastries and other homemade items.
    • 109 Governor Street, Richmond, VA 23219.

    • Open year-round every Saturday:
      • From May to October 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
      • From November to April 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    • It is Richmond’s “biggest year-round” outdoor farmers market. They have lots of local vendors selling different types of products.

    RVA Black Farmers Market

    • Open every 2 nd and 4 th Sunday from June to November from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • 1631 E Grace St, Richmond, VA 23219.

    Shalom Farms Mobile Market

    From June to November the Shalom Farms Mobile Market provides weekly pop-up farmers markets for the Richmond community. They sell to low-income senior living communities, community health clinics and public housing areas.

    The Carytown Farmers Market

    • The Carytown Farmers Market is open from May to October every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    • They have over 50 vendors selling food, drinks, produce and handmade products.

      • Located at City Stadium

    South of the James Market

    • They are open year-round every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    • It is an “open-air producer-only” farmers market that sells only homemade items and produce made by locals.

      • Located at Forest Hill Park

    West End Farmers Market

    • The West End Farmers Market is open year-round every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    • According to organizers, it is the only “farmer-owned” farmers market in the Richmond area with every produce and product made in Virginia.
