The Richmond MakerFest will return to Deep Run High School Nov. 2, bringing with it a huge display of local makers, hobbyists and entrepreneurs showing off their skills in a variety of disciplines.

Presented by Blue Cheese Robotics (Deep Run’s robotics team) and Build, The Build Forward Foundation, the free event will feature 50 local makers showcasing their skills in robotics, science, art, technology, engineering, sustainability, food, music, and fashion. The event is designed as a a celebration of local innovation and provides attendees with the opportunity to purchase handmade goods directly from creators.

“I’m excited that RVA MakerFest will make a comeback to the community,” said Mary Arritt, RVA MakerFest producer and co-founder. “The festival has brought out thousands of attendees in 2018 and we hope the same enthusiasm will continue this year with its resurgence. RVA MakerFest celebrates the incredible talent and innovation in Richmond while inspiring the next generation of makers.”

RVA MakerFest 2024 will feature a number of hands-on activities and workshops for attendees, as well as an art poster contest for Henrico County Schools students and a logo and brand identity contest that is open to all Virginians. The event also will also feature live demonstrations by award-winning FIRST Robotics teams, sustainable technology exhibits, and art installations.

The event is free to attend. To apply as a vendor or sponsor, visit RVAMakerFest.org or email makerfest@rvabuild.com for details.
