Be prepared for 2 upcoming lane closures in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Drivers in Richmond are asked to be prepared for two upcoming lane closures — one of which will affect traffic in the area for most of the remainder of 2024.

According to the Richmond Department of Public Works, there will be alternating lane closures on Monument Avenue between the 1600 block and the 2500 block for asphalt paver repairs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. between July 29 and Aug. 9.

Also, there will be lane closures on Westover Hills Boulevard between Riverside Drive and West 49th Street, as well as West 49th Street between Westover Hills Boulevard and Hill Top Drive and the intersection on Westover Hills Boulevard and Riverside Drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between July 29 and Nov. 30 for various projects. Flaggers will direct traffic in the area in some instances.

Drivers are asked to drive carefully and use caution when travelling through work zones.
