WAVY-TV 10 recognized as top employer for internships

RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) – WAVY-TV 10 has been named a top employer for interns in Virginia.

WAVY Internship Coordinator Stephanie Cooke traveled to Richmond Thursday to be recognized on a day Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin proclaimed Virginia Intern Day.

Speakers included Newport News Mayor Barry Duval, who now leads the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. He spoke about the importance of work-based learning.

Duval said it can help keep talent in Virginia when done right.

Other companies that made the list of top employers for interns in Virginia include Dollar Tree, Huntington Ingalls and the City of Virginia Beach. The 136 awards were separated by region.
