CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — PopUp RVA will open its new year-round indoor vendor at Chesterfield Towne Center this Thursday.

On Thursday, Aug. 1, PopUp RVA is set to open its its first full-time indoor vendor market , which will operate daily year-round at Chesterfield Towne Center.

PopUp RVA is most known for its vendor markets each week at The Diamond. The success at the weekly vendor market has led to the expansion of a 9,000 square foot store inside of Chesterfield Towne Center.

“Finding a way to shop local won’t be a secret anymore”, said PopUp RVA Founder, Brian Sullivan. “This new endeavor is our way of creating even more opportunity for the Richmond community to shop local. This just seemed like the next logical step, moving from weekend and seasonal events to a full time retail store.”

According to PopUp RVA, the new store can be located at the mall entrance that faces Midlothian Turnpike near Old Navy, located across from H&M.

“Spring and Summer this year has been a tough one for local vendors and all outdoor events,” said Sullivan.  “It seems like every weekend has either rained or been unbearably hot.  Our new indoor space at Chesterfield Towne Center is not only weather proof, but comes with an existing strong customer base.”

Vendors of any kind will have the option of signing up for a single day or a regular monthly schedule to establish a full-time retail space in their market area.

PopUp RVA confirmed almost 600 spaces for the first few months. Each day can hold up to 30 vendor setups and spaces are still available.

“Most of our vendors have other jobs and are either doing this as a side hustle, or slowly trying to build into their full time income,” said Sullivan. “We want to make that transition possible, without all the underlying risk and stress that comes along with it.  This new space will give everyone an opportunity to have a safe, reliable space to setup and grow their customer base and their business.”

With most vendors depending on one day “PopUp” events due to the cost of brick and mortar location costs, this expansion aims to allow local vendors to open their own retail space with no risk, for a low cost, and most importantly, at a schedule that works best for them.

Since its establishment in 2020, PopUp RVA has hosted over 3,500 local businesses at its weekly and seasonal events.

The retail location will operate everyday at full mall hours: Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

Shoppers can find the lineup of participating vendors here on PopUp RVA’s website.
