Virginia Credit Union and Member One Federal Credit Union merger approved
There’s been a vote by members, and they have approved Roanoke-based Member One Federal Credit Union merging with Richmond-based Virginia Credit Union. Member One membership has approved the merger with Virginia Credit Union as 3,479 voted in favor, and 1,404 voted against. The combined credit union would serve close to 500,000 members with 37 branch locations and employ approximately 1,100 employees throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. The merger will go into effect tomorrow.

Two planetariums in the USA turn to Harman for immersive audio systems
The Science Museum of Virginia upgraded projection, lighting and audio systems at its Richmond and Danville planetariums, turning to Harman to deliver immersive sound. Nestled within Richmond’s historic Broad Street Station building, the Science Museum of Virginia spans almost 21,000 sq m and offers interactive exhibitions on wellness, innovation and the physical sciences. Among its prominent features is The Dome, a five-story planetarium theatre.

Ash Hotels to Open New Property in Richmond, VA
Shenandoah Mansions, the fifth hotel from hotelier Ash, has launched reservations ahead of its February 2025 opening in Richmond, VA. Owned and designed by Ash, Shenandoah Mansions is a red brick 73-key hotel inhabiting a six-story apartment building dating back to the 20th century. Once home to community leaders such as Ellen Gertrude Tompkins Kidd, a women’s suffrage activist and pickle entrepreneur, Shenandoah Mansions has "cinematic" interiors with Richmond influence and references to local myths and legends. Located in the Fan District—a former bohemian enclave whose Italianate series of boulevards are lined with historic Virginia houses and restaurants and stores—the hotel sits just off Monument Avenue, offering views of treetops and steeples as one of the tallest buildings in the neighborhood.
