Algood City Council is considering how it wants to handle the replacement of Algood Police Chief Dale Armour. City Administrator Keith Morrison said the council will decide at the August meeting whether to appoint Interim Chief Tim Terry as the new chief or to begin a search. Henry County Medical Center to transfer operations to West Tennessee Healthcare
WEST TENNESSEE HEALTHCARE COMMITTED TO PROVIDING HEALTHCARE SERVICES IN HENRY COUNTY. Jackson, Tennessee (July 30, 2024) – On Tuesday evening, July 30, 2024, the Board of Trustees of West Tennessee Healthcare (WTH) approved a resolution to pursue an innovative integration model with Henry County Medical Center (HCMC) in Paris, Tennessee. The model includes the transfer of operations, a capital lease of HCMC’s real estate, and a commitment to provide certain healthcare services in Henry County. Once the transaction is finalized, the health system will begin operating as West Tennessee Healthcare Henry County (WTHHC).
Residents Get Insight Into Spencer Merger
Spencer and Warren County Utility District officials held a public meeting Tuesday night to address the long road ahead to improve the city’s water system. Utility District General Manager Anthony Pelham said his main focus is to bring clean drinking water to Spencer’s residents. Man Injured In Eagle Way Crash
A wreck on Eagle Way at the intersection of Cadiz Road sent a man to the hospital Wednesday morning. Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say a car driven by Ronnie Moss was westbound on Cadiz Road when a problem with his brakes caused his vehicle to hit a northbound SUV driven by Irvin Payne and a northbound car driven by Lane Carter who were both on Eagle Way.

Steven Gibson receives Vol State Award at Tennessee 4-H Roundup
Steven Gibson, son of Steve and Crystal Gibson of Toone, received the Vol State Award at Tennessee 4-H Roundup, held at UT Martin during the week of July 15-19. He has made numerous contributions to Hardeman County 4-H serving as his 4-H clubs president for several years as well as being a part of one state runner-up Meats Judging team in 2021 and a member of the state winning team in 2022, earning trips to Denver, Colorado and Manhattan, Kansas. Steven participated on many other judging teams including Livestock and Poultry. He is completing his service to the Western Region 4-H All-Star Council and just completed his term on State 4-H Council as Senior Representative, passing his jacket off to the successor at Roundup. Steven was also named a state winner in the Level II Food Science Project at 4-H Roundup, earning a trip to National 4-H Congress in Atlanta in November. He is already attending UT Martin and plans to complete his degree there with aspirations of becoming a 4-H Agent with the University of Tennessee Extension.
