The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a Heat Advisory that remains in effect for a significant portion of Middle Tennessee as of 1:44 AM CDT, Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Scorching temperatures combined with stifling humidity are forecasted to create heat index values climbing up to 109 degrees. Planning commission approves Global Mall plan
Metro Councilmember Joy Styles' efforts to move along plans for the Global Mall redevelopment got a green light at the planning commission meeting Thursday night. The items were heard on the commission’s consent agenda, so there was no discussion about the mall plans. However, Styles attended and thanked the planning commission members for including the site plans on consent. She pointed out that she is particularly excited about being able to move forward with the plans for a performing arts center, daycare, hotel and artist housing.
