NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The size of Metro Council will not be reduced after the Nashville government won a lawsuit against the State of Tennessee. In 2023, the Tennessee General Assembly passed a law capping the number of Metro Council to 20 members, cutting the body in half. That law was then signed into law by Governor Bill Lee on March 9, 2023.

University of Michigan Solar Car Team Wins American Solar Challenge
The University of Michigan Solar Car Team on Sunday won the American Solar Challenge, an eight-day, distance-based race from Tennessee to Wyoming. The team covered 2,120 miles in their vehicle, called Astrum, before crossing the finish line in Casper, Wy. Along the way, they took advantage of many of the route’s opportunities to add distance through optional loops.

Suspect on the run after alleged stabbing at Walmart
GALLATIN, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man is wanted in connection to a stabbing that happened at Walmart in Gallatin. The Gallatin Police Department responded to the Walmart at 1112 Nashville Pike just after 6 a.m. on Tuesday. Officers discovered that Larry Wayne Cole III stabbed his husband, Daniel Cole, at the store and then fled the scene.
OPMobility to receive $558K toward $3M Spring Hill expansion
