Construction issues delay Ridgefield splash pad opening

Ridgefield residents will need to wait longer for a refreshing day of sprinkler fun as continued construction delays the splash pad opening at Overlook Park, 113-131 S. Main Ave., Ridgefield.

Equipment issues are preventing the system from functioning properly, and the project will require additional work from the contractor, at their own expense, before the project can be accepted and opened to the public, a release by the City of Ridgefield stated.

The splash pad is expected to be opened in 2024, but an opening date cannot be scheduled until project completion, the news release stated.

Once opened, the splash pad will be available from 10 a.m. to dusk, Tuesday to Sunday, May through October.
