Lowcountry shrimpers fight against imported shrimp
MCCLELLANVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) - Two Lowcountry programs are working to advocate for stricter regulations to ensure fair trade practices of shrimp in the Lowcountry. The South Carolina Shrimpers Association and S.C. Sea Grant Consortium are hosting workshops to unite shrimpers who are facing challenges from shrimp that are imported at a lower price.

A series of port meetings continues in July and August, providing a unique opportunity for fishermen and others interested in the King Mackerel and Spanish Mackerel fisheries to share their perspectives and vision for the future.
