I know, I know. You don't believe me that the beloved peanut butter cookies we're all used to with the fork impressions and sugar on top can be made with only three ingredients. THREE INGREDIENTS!

But it's true! And they're gluten free, so you can share them with everyone!

Sugar and peanut butter: One cup each of equal parts white sugar and peanut butter are needed for the dough.

Egg: A large egg gives the cookie dough moisture and keeps it together.

    AND THAT'S IT!

    Three-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe

Mix the ingredients together, form the dough into balls, use a fork to create a crisscross pattern, and bake until the edges are crispy. It's that simple.

After the cookies have cooled fully, transfer them to an airtight container or cookie jar. Keep refrigerated for a maximum of five days. To really make them taste freshly baked for longer, place a slice of bread inside the container to absorb any additional moisture and keep them soft.

These cookies also freeze really well. Freeze the dough balls before baking for optimal results. Just take them and bake them when you want them!

    Ingredients

    • One cup of peanut butter
    • One cup of granulated sugar, you can even use brown sugar
    • One large egg

    Directions

    • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
    • Add everything to a large mixing bowl.
    • Using an electric mixer, blend peanut butter, sugar, and egg in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
    • Form dough into 1-inch balls and arrange on an ungreased baking sheet, one inch apart.
    • Using a fork, flatten each into a cross-hatch design.
    • Bake for about ten minutes, or until the edges are dark and crispy.
    • Transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling.

    And that's it!

Now obviously, a sprinkle of flake salt or sugar would be amazing here. Or a splash of vanilla, or sprinkle of dark chocolate chips. But then, it wouldn't be just three ingredients, would it?

    Enjoy, my friends!
