    Pro-Tips and Alternatives:

    1. For an extra burst of lemon flavor, add freshly grated lemon zest on top of your lemon and cream cheese. It will enhance the citrusy taste and balance the sweetness of the cake mix.

    2. If you are looking for some crunch, sprinkle some chopped nuts, like almonds or pecans, on top of the cake before baking. This makes a wonderful contrast to the creamy filling.

    3. Use lemon or white cake mix in place of yellow.

    4. For a bit of pizzazz, drizzle with some lemon glaze. Just mix together some powdered sugar and lemon juice and pour it over the cake once it's cooled.

    5. For next-level deliciousness, add some ice cream on the side. The cold ice cream melting over the warm cake creates a wonderful contrast.

    6. After baking, allow the cake to cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing. This gives the layers time to set, the flavors time to meld, and it makes it easier to cut.

    7. For a berry twist, add a layer of frozen or fresh blueberries or raspberries. Between the cream cheese and cake mix layers, the fruity twist pairs perfectly with the tart lemon.

    Ingredients:

    • 32 oz. can of lemon pie filling
    • One 15-ounce package of yellow cake mix
    • 8 ounces of cubed cream cheese
    • 3/4 cup of butter, melted

    Directions:

    • Warm your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Using a 9x13-inch dish, lightly coat with non-stick spray.
    • For your base, pour your lemon filling into your greased dish. Using a spatula, even out your lemon filling, making sure to get into the corners.
    • Take your cream cheese and cut it into little chunks. Add the chunks to your lemon filling.
    • Next, sprinkle your yellow cake mix evenly on top of your lemon pie filling. Next, evenly pour the melted butter on top.
    • Add your baking dish to your preheated oven, and bake for 40–45 minutes. Start checking at 30 minutes, as all ovens cook a bit differently.
    • Once cooked, remove your cake from the oven and allow it to cool for about 10–15 minutes prior to dishing it up.
    • Cooling and Serving: Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool for about 15 to 20 minutes.
    • Serve with a dollop of fresh whip cream or some vanilla bean ice cream.

    Enjoy Friends! ❤️
