Nebraska is located in the middle of the United States of America. Nebraska has cities that offer the best housing price, higher incomes, and basically a high quality of life.

Nebraska is popularly called the cornhusker state. Nebraska has all these glowing characteristics and more but like any other state in America, there are some cities in Nebraska that taint the good name of Nebraska. Some of these cities have a high number of violent crimes ranging from rape, murder, assault, burglary, and even larceny. These dangerous cities are listed below in descending order.

1. Omaha

There is no city bigger than Omaha in the state of Nebraska. Omaha is not just known for being the biggest city in Nebraska but is also known for railroads and stockyards. Although Omaha has previously been ranked as one of the best cities to raise a family because of the cities good schools and affordable housing, there are still some parts of Omaha with a high number of violent crimes. The crime rate in Omaha is currently at a rate of 6 for every 1000 persons.

2. Grand Island

Grand Island is located in the center of Nebraska. Nebraska is popularly known as the home of the Stuhr Museum which attracts a lot of visitors to the great city. Some reporters have linked the high crime rate in Grand Island to the large number of visitors passing through. For a town as small as Grand Island, the rate of violent crime is disturbing. The crime rate in Grand Island is at a rate of 5 per 1000.

3. Scottsbluff

Although they are a lot of places in Scottsbluff to have fun such as the zoo, park, and museum. Scottsbluff is still a dangerous city. A major factor contributing to the high rate of violent crime in the city is the fact that Scottsbluff has the highest unemployment rate in the state of Nebraska.

4. North Platte

With a population of 23,000 North Platte still gives other larger cities a run for its money. North Platte is not just known for being one of the most dangerous cities in Nebraska but is also known for its poor-quality schooling system. The high unemployment rate in North Platte also contributes to making it one of the most dangerous cities in Nebraska.

5. Lincoln

Lincoln is not just the capital city of Nebraska but is also the second biggest city in the state. It may come as a surprise to most of you that a city like Lincoln even made the list but like any other big city there is some crime even though reports have suggested that the crime rate in Lincoln is still on a decline.
