City Of Carroll Plans Mosquito Spraying For July 11, July 18
The City of Carroll has announced the upcoming schedule for planned mosquito spraying in town for the next two weeks. According to the Public Works Department, ultra-low volume spraying will commence during the early evening on Thursday, July 11, weather permitting. The entirety of the city is expected to be covered by these procedures. A second round of spraying is planned for next week, on Thursday, July 18. Crews will follow a similar schedule and application process. The aerosols dispensed during mosquito spraying are generally considered safe for humans and pets, but individuals with respiratory issues may wish to stay inside while crews are working. Exceptionally heavy rainfall brings flash flooding in Franklin, Wright counties
(Radio Iowa) – Forecasters say parts of Wright and Franklin counties got up to a half-foot of rain overnight, bringing flash flooding to communities including Alexander, Clarion and Eagle Grove. Wright County Emergency Management Coordinator Jarika Beecher says many basements were flooded and many roads were impassible as municipal crews tried to keep up with the torrents.

NATIONAL GUARD HELPS HAUL AWAY FLOOD DEBRIS
Members of the Iowa Air National Guard’s 185th Refueling Wing in Sioux City have been helping residents in western Iowa remove flood debris. Major Daniel Ress says they have the equipment needed to do the job. “We can’t rebuild the city for them, we can’t bring anything back to the way it was before, but we can offer just a little bit of helping hand that makes a difference,” he says.
