Last July 13-year-old Amber Archuleta was shot and killed while hanging out with her brother and two friends. Police arrested 14-year-old Porfirio Brown. His trial for second-degree murder ended in a hung jury in March. Now the state is re-trying the case.

SANTA FE, NM – The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian returns to Santa Fe, NM, Aug. 15–18 for its Native Cinema Showcase. The museum’s 24th annual celebration of the best in Indigenous film includes 38 films this year.
