If reigning PFL light heavyweight champion Impa Kasanganay had the chance to face fellow MMA champions Alex Pereira or Dricus Du Plessis in the near future, he believes he can finish both UFC stars.

Kasanganay (17-4) is just days away from his return to the PFL Playoffs. However, this time around he will be a sizable favorite as he looks to win the league’s 205-pound title for a second straight year. If he can do that, it will take his value around the sport to an all-time high.

And it is perfect timing because “Tshilobo” confirmed to Ringside Intel this week that he will have the opportunity to test his value in MMA free agency after the season. Kasanganay has become a star in the league at 205 pounds. However, he has a long history at 185 pounds and nearly beat Bellator middleweight king Johnny Eblen earlier this year. It gives him added value on the open market.

If he did return to the UFC as a reigning two-time PFL champion, it would surely make many speculate about potential matchups with the reigning UFC champs at middleweight and light heavyweight, Dricus Du Plessis and Alex Pereira , respectively.

Impa Kasanganay record: 17-4 (5 knockouts, 4 submissions)

When asked about possible fights against both, the 30-year-old had a great deal of confidence about how those bouts would turn out.

“I finish both of them,” Kasanganay told Ringside Intel . “I know who I am. I’ve shown it. I’ve been speaking it. I know who God called me to be. I am supposed to be the best and that’s who I am right now … Dricus? I’ll take him out. Pereira? I’ll take him out. I don’t care. Anybody. Anyone of those weight classes. Let me fight.”

Impa Kasanaganay returns to the SmartCage on Aug. 16 to face Joshua Silveira in the semifinals of the PFL Playoffs. The bout will be a rematch of their 2023 light heavyweight championship bout. The main card begins at 9 PM ET and will air exclusively on ESPN and ESPN+.
