Could WWE Hall-of-Famer Kane go from Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee to President of the United States? The wrestling legend weighs in on possibly taking his platform nationally.

Retired WWE great Kane will go down as one of the company’s most popular performers during the 21st century. The fictional brother of the iconic Undertaker had an impressive career as he took the perception of how athletic a big man can be to new heights. However, he has also had an interesting post-wrestling career.

Two years ago, the 57-year-old was re-elected to a second term as Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. Kane — like Jesse Ventura, Matt Morgan, and Hiroshi Hase — is the latest former wrestling star to transition to elected office. However, none of them have made a serious push as a candidate for President of the United States.

In a recent interview with former WWE talent Tyrus , FKA Brodus Clay, the fellow Republican asked Kane if he had any interest in pursuing a higher level of office like the presidency. However, the WWE legend seems to prefer working at the local and state level instead of taking his political skills to Washington.

“I have no desire to go to Washington, DC. I think that there are a lot of things that can be done at the local and state level,” he said. “Say you look at Tennessee. Tennessee has really set itself apart from a lot of other states. We’ve been like second GDP growth for many years. We actually had positive growth through the pandemic. I think we’re the only state that did that. That’s a fact.”

“But in Washington, man, it’s just, there’s just so many things going on up there, and it really is a swamp. Good people go in, and they get frustrated because they can’t change, or in some cases, they just throw up their hands and leave, or sometimes they, unfortunately, become part of the machine because that’s the only way to survive.

“So I really think that a lot of changes can be made, especially at the state level, which would be productive for where you live. Ultimately, then, that would be productive for the entire country.”
