We’ve seen so many retired Superstars return, so could John Cena wrestle following his big retirement tour?

When John Cena announced his retirement, it was both surprising and expected. He had been intimating it for some time. It was just that he had finally decided to speak it into existence. 2025 will be his final one in wrestling, end of story. During the Money In The Bank presser, Cena was asked and he was pretty clear where things stood. Of note at the time, many figured WrestleMania 41 would be the farewell match. It will not be-that one has yet to be announced. We just know that each PLE he takes part in will be his last.

    Or will it?

We have seen many retired Superstars, predominantly Hall of Famers , come back for one reason or another. Edge got another go-round after his career was ended prematurely due to a neck injury. Medicine advanced, the body healed and he returned. Goldberg and others got a whiff of bigger paydays. Some got lured back for the Saudi Arabia money, or the Down Under money, regardless of how much they could-or could not-still go.

So, once he wrestles that final match on the John Cena retirement tour, could we ever see him again? He and Triple H have both said that Cena would be done in the ring as a Superstar. But, there would be other things for John Cena to do in and around WWE . That seemed pretty clear cut. But John Cena was asked one more time, this time by the folks over at ComicBook.com . How big of a check would it take to get Cena to un-retire for a match or two?

Despite what Ted DiBiase would haver you believe, Mr. Hustle, Loyalty and Respect was blunt. There isn’t a check-writer on Earth who could write a check big enough for him to reconsider and unretire for even one match. When he’s done, he insists he will be done. While I tend to believe him, in that he seems quite content with how things will wrap up, I still maintain one thing. In the world of professional wrestling? Never say never. It’s an itch that you never seem to get rid of, as so many talents have shown. Maybe Cena will be different, but time will tell.
