It seems almost crazy to ask, but could AEW star Bryan Danielson work All In without a contract in just a few weeks?

There has been a lot of news about Bryan Danielson of late, and for good reason. And now, we have some more to chew on. When he joined AEW , the American Dragon was open about that contract being his last full time wrestling contract. He made a promise to his kids. That promise was even before he found out about new neck issues requiring surgery-another reason he will be slowing down, if not shutting down.

    There is a catch.

Danielson’s one and only AEW contract expired at the beginning of August according to Fightful Select . Yet, before that contract ran out, Bryan Danielson earned a shot at Swerve Strickland and his AEW Championship. The title match takes place in London at the end of August. Which, if you are doing the math at home, means that AEW star Bryan Danielson could work All In without a contract.

Now, as Bryan himself puts it, he doesn’t check his phone much. He would always answer it for Tony Khan , and there’s a chance he’s thus far ignored some short term deal in a text. AEW has worked with many talents on handshake deals covering an appearance or three. Heck, even Cody Rhodes before he left for WWE ? He had an expired AEW contract and a handshake deal for whatever dates remained.

So, for right now, there is no contract in place for the AEW star. And as we approach All In, the match stakes couldn’t be much higher. It’s Strickland’s title against Danielson’s career. Swerve may be a rising star himself, but I don’t know that he’s “the guy” to put Danielson into retirement. But, without a contract, you begin to think the odds are against the American Dragon.
