Bully Ray Calls AEW Star MJF A ‘Complete D—’

At a recent autograph signing, Bully Ray was asked about AEW star MJF and he responded how he is a ‘complete d—.’

MJF was, at one time very recently, considered a hot impending free agent whom WWE wanted badly. As we all know, that did not go as WWE (and their fans) may have hoped. At some point, Maxwell Jacob Friedman signed a new deal with AEW . He missed a good chunk of time to recover from injuries. When he finally did return , he brought back with him his heel persona. Sure, fans enjoyed him as a face, but he might be one of the best heels in the entire business today.

And WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray sees heel greatness in AEW star MJF . And it isn’t because of what he does in the ring. It’s what he does outside of the ring. For so many, kayfabe has died, or mostly died. Only a few keep out of the public eye, or maintain their gimmick at all costs. The Undertaker was notorious for this, protecting his aura at all costs.

MJF Doing His Part

While Max doesn’t have that aura to protect, he does have an image to maintain. In the ring, in front of AEW cameras, he is a hate magnet. And as such, he needs to carry that wherever he goes. Bully Ray sees that heel greatness because of what MJF does in front of fans in social settings. The WWE Hall of Famer recently recalled, on Busted Open Radio, seeing Friedman at a convention. He was signing for fans, but being a consummate heel in the process. Throwing signed pictures, doing a bad job of inking his autograph, disparaging them. Everything he does in the ring, he does any chance he can in front of fans.

“Complete d—,” said Ray. “Throws the pictures at the people, throws the pictures on the floor, takes the action figure and flings it across the room. Doesn’t smile, tells them that they suck, they smell, their mother […] and it works. Now, people are entertained by it, which is where I draw the line because if they’re entertained by it then maybe you’re not doing good enough of a job.”

Bully Ray even said that he’s waiting for MJF to pull a fan from the crowd and tune him up. Though, if memory serves me correctly, the current American Champion has already had some altercations with fans.
