It’s time for our RAW results for August 19th, 2024, and if you had not noticed, the Bash At Berlin is getting closer and closer.

    Quick Results

    • Sheamus took out Pete Dunne in our opener. Strong match, Dunne looked really good in the loss, and Cole was deliberate in putting him over. Also of note during the match, could not help but notice Cole mentioning Sheamus’ really quick title win over Bryan Danielson . Was it a shot? Or was it just being honest with history that happened nearby? You decide.
    • Ivy Nile and Maxxine Dupri was a bust, as the Wyatt Sicks got involved. Nikki Cross was determined to beat something into or out of Nile, and we wrapped it up watching Uncle Howdy drill Chad Gable with a Sister Abigail.

    • New Day and Odyssey Jones defeated the Final Testament. Still some tension between Woods and Kingston, but this felt like a rather decisive win for the faces. My big hope with all of this is we get a Big E television return to soothe things over.
    • Miz got destroyed by Big Bronson Reed in a No DQ match that The Miz requested. I liked his pre-match talk with Pearce, and for now it removed any concern of him crossing R-Truth. More important, as Reed was looking to take out another Superstar, we had Braun Strowman come on down.
    • Damian Priest versus Dominik Mysterio never happened, as Judgement Day got involved and took out the Terror Twins. Fans were calling for Rey Mysterio to help even the odds. Not sure if the LWO get a call from Priest, or if he finds other friends (or any friends?). Throwing this out here now, but could we see more than a single men’s and women’s WarGames match this year? I think there are a couple feuds worthy, and I don’t think it would dilute the matches at all.
    • The Unholy Union survive the triple threat match and retain the Women’s Tag Titles over Pure Fusion Collective and Damage CTRL.
    • Randy Orton scored a win over Ludwig Kaiser, even while dealing with Gunther’s interference.

    Best Match

I will call this one a toss up between Sheamus and Dunne or Orton and Kaiser. Yes, we opened strong and ended stronger.

    Worst Match

    No complaints this week.

    Noteworthy Moments

Say what you will, but it’s kind of awesome and hilarious how Punk and McIntyre have elevated an arts and crafts project (Punk’s bracelet) to be something of any significance. Punk was literally offering Drew the leather strap in exchange for the memento. I get the sentimental and personal nature of the item, I do. But, when you can’t or don’t have WWE gold? It’s not even close to the next best thing, but it might as well be on the line.

    Holy S#$^ Moments

As with how things went for the young Bloodline over Roman Reigns on Friday, the same thing happened for the new Judgement Day tonight. The group needed a decisive showing over a couple of Superstars in Priest and Ripley, and they got it. If the heels show up and show out like that all the time, Priest and Ripley will need help, but will they get any?

    Lowlights

I wanted more from the women’s tag title match. It wasn’t bad, it just was something I wanted more from. And while I get it, put the big champion in the main event segment, I would have made a strong argument for having a title defense in the main event.

    Highlights

Really good opening match and main event. I liked what Miz did with Reed, and I am curious to see what Strowman and Big Bronson Reed can do. Reed should get that win, but it might be quite fun.

    After The Final Bell

We are less than two weeks away from Berlin. The card is certainly shaping up, and as we learned, we won’t have Pat McAfee again for a bit. I really don’t expect an Orton win, but the potential is there, WWE has made sure of that. Lots of little things going right again, as I hope has been shown in this week’s RAW results.
