While he has done a lot, what Does Bret Hart call is best accomplishment from his time in Vince McMahon’s WWE?

Bret Hart has done a lot in professional wrestling. While he has shown up all over, the bulk of his career-and certainly his biggest moments-were in Vince McMahon’s WWE . And as we all know, things were not always harmonious. Hart left WWE in an ugly fashion. He was the WWF Champion but was had a contract expiring, and it was during a time where WCW was happy to throw silly money at big name WWE talent. Once he told Vince he was leaving, things went south, culminating in the Montreal Screwjob . It’s a shame that that has gone down as one of the most famous things in Hart’s legacy.

As someone who grew up a huge Bret Hart fan, I view many things above that. The Ironman match with Shawn Michaels is perhaps my favorite. Hart and Austin is another. There are a lot to choose from, to be fair. So, the Hitman himself recently spoke with the Attitude Era podcast, and they asked Bret what his best accomplishment from Vince McMahon’s WWE was. His answer may surprise you, or it may make you laugh. Perhaps both even.

    His best accomplishment?

Every wrestler, because they live and breathe it, may pick something totally unexpected. For Hart, is best accomplishment, his proudest moment? That would be punching Vince McMahon . Even before we learned just how despicable Vince was in recent years, if you offered people a chance to slug him, the line would have no doubt been long. And it was something that Hart did, no waiting required. The moment was even gloriously captured on video, should you have ever watched the “Wrestling With Shadows” documentary.

Sure, he values everything he’s done that we all know and love. But in the interview, he called that punch his favorite. He was and is proud of knocking out the boss, and most notably he said he would change nothing about that moment. I do wonder if Hart feels he would have still punched Vince had he not been exiting WWE.

Regardless, The Hitman did still find his way back to WWE and into the Hall of Fame. His is one of the best examples of “never say never” in WWE. If knocking out your soon-to-be-former boss on the way out the door doesn’t burn those bridges, what will? So, do you think Bret Hart and Vince McMahon will ever find peace?
