A new AEW rumor claims that one of the company’s top homegrown talents is in line for a world title victory over the winner of the All-In title match between Bryan Danielson and Swerve Strickland.

After months of building toward the event, AEW’s highly anticipated All In card at England’s Wembley Stadium goes down this Sunday. The 2023 edition of the event was a major success and the hope is that this weekend’s version can be equally as impactful.

The August 25 card is stacked and will be headlined by a title vs. career match as AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland defends his belt against wrestling legend Bryan Danielson . However, no matter who walks away from Wembley with the AEW title, it seems that plans for who they lose the strap to may already be set.

In a new edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter , Dave Meltzer claimed that there are already plans in place for AEW homegrown star Darby Allin to get a run as their top champion.

“We’ve heard talk of Allin getting a run as champion no matter who wins [between Strickland and Danielson],” he wrote. “We know that’s been talked about seriously, but as to when, that’s less clear.”

Allin is set to face the winner of the All In main event at Dynamite Grand Slam next month. Meltzer did mention that if Danielson shockingly won, despite his contract being up, he didn’t think he would only get a month as champion.

That could mean Strickland will win, as many expect, and drop the title to Allin at the major September event in New York. Allin has been with AEW since its early days and is one of the brand’s few notable stars who became a household name during their stint in the promotion.
