Once again making waves via his show, does Rikishi want son Jey Uso to leave WWE for AEW?

Podcasts can be fun. They are great, in the sense that anyone who has the minimum basic kit can record his or her opinion and broadcast it out to the world. When you already bring to the table some name recognition, it’s easier for that voice to be heard. That’s the case for former WWE Superstar Rikishi. His podcast, or rather, some of his recent comments on it, are causing a bit of a stir.

Not long ago, Rikishi used his platform to complain about how WWE was booking Jey. He felt that putting him into some romantic angle with Rhea Ripley and yeeting constantly was a misuse of Jey Uso’s talents and capabilities. After all, Jey was a massive part of the Bloodline and has shown he can do it all. Once he left the family faction, he’s only been one of WWE’s top babyface talents. But that position is not quite enough for dear old dad, apparently.

On a recent episode , Rikishi tossed a big one out there. Could Jey Uso leave WWE for AEW ? Or, should he? And while that one remains to be seen, dear old dad does think that maybe, just maybe, Jey Uso would be better off taking his services to Tony Khan and AEW. And on one hand, that may be true. But on the other, I wonder if Rikishi has been watching AEW programming.

Let’s say that hypothetically, Jey Uso has a chance to go and does. He could arguably become the biggest name to jump ship. Bryan Danielson was no doubt a big name to go. Edge , now Adam Copeland? Same idea. But, those two are also reasons why I wonder if Rikishi watches where he might want Jey to go. Danielson just won the world title (which he didn’t want), but I’d argue that his time in AEW hasn’t elevated his stature, nor that of the company. For Copeland, I would say the same. I just don’t see Jey Uso faring any better in AEW, should he go. Given the company’s track record with former WWE talents, I feel confident in that view for the time being.
