Elite Coach Hilariously Compares Jon Jones To Most Famous PED User In Sports History

In the eyes of many, Jon Jones is the greatest combat sports athlete of all-time.

For several years, Lance Armstrong held the title in the world of cycling.

“Dana (White) is still insisting that Jon is pound-for-pound No. 1,” Mendez said (thanks to MMA Junkie for the quotes). “He has his valid points. My valid point is I just say one thing: Lance Armstrong.

“Lance won the Tour de France how many times? And basically he got all those titles taken away from him because of doping. Even though it was many years later that they caught him.

“It’s been fact. It’s been proven Jon has been caught doping. I’m sorry, I think that disqualifies him just based on that alone.”

Armstrong took the cycling community by storm, securing the title at the biggest racing event of the year several times.

Does Javier Mendez Have A Point About Jon Jones?

Some agree with Mendez in believing the reign of “Bones” has been tainted. However, he has escaped serious punishment for his infractions.

A second win over Daniel Cormier was overturned due to a failed drug test. Jones also popped prior to his rematch with Alexander Gustafsson.

Mendez went on to disagree with White in regards to Jones’ status at the moment, citing his lack of competing.

“He’s not active,” Mendez said. “If he was active, then there’ s a bigger challenge for that, but he’s not.

“His abilities? Yeah, I can see that. The guy is one of the greatest of all-time, for sure.”
