A WWE legend and current member of the AEW roster believes Sting’s son, Steven Borden, has the potential to be a future star in the wrestling business.

When it comes to the biggest wrestling stars of the 1990s and early 2000s, few are more beloved than WCW icon Sting. He was the franchise player for the company when they were a distant second to WWE. He was at the heart of one of the best storylines of the late 90s. And he even delivered a surprisingly memorable run in TNA Wrestling.

Earlier this year he brought his legendary career to a close in a fantastic tag team match at AEW’s Revolution event. One of the big surprises from that match was the fact that his sons Steven and Garrett took part. And wore gear that called back to some of their dad’s favorite eras of his career.

Most assumed it was just a special family moment in the final match of a wrestling legend However, in May it was revealed that Sting’s AEW partner Darby Allin was going to help Steven train for a potential career in the ring. Well, this week the wrestling prospect got a strong endorsement from one of the most successful performers of the 2010s.

“I think he got a bit of the itch. He felt what it is. And once you feel that, man, it’s hard to walk away from that,” Adam Copeland, FKA Edge, told The Takedown this week. “It’s hard to go, ‘Wait, that wasn’t cool.’ You’re going to go, ‘That was really cool and really fun.’

“It’s a great gig. So I think he felt that. Also in terms of his physicality, I mean, he’s 6-3. He’s about 230 pounds. He’s probably sitting about eight percent body fat. He looks the part,” he added. “He’s got a good head on his shoulders, very similar to his dad in how he conducts himself, which is a great thing.”

The injured AEW star was a part of a recent training session with Steven Borden, along with pals FTR. He praised how “smart” Sting’s son is, and if he is willing to put in the hard work necessary he can go on to be a name in the business.
