We saw these two compete at SummerSlam , hence nothing too special in the rematch. Nia Jax continues to get better and Bayley put-forth a valiant effort.
While the match was fine, the interaction with Stratton and the referee did help. Soon, Stratton might be calling herself champion and maybe that is how Bayley stays in the title picture. Grade: B
Damian Priest Vs Finn Bálor
I remember when WWE was putting The Judgment Day together. After removing Edge, Finn Balor and Damian Priest made for great replacements.
Like any great tale in WWE, it usually ends in a wrestling match. This has been building for months and honestly, this match should have happened in September.
Balor’s stock has dropped a ton in a few years as he is no longer near singles gold. Priest is going the opposite direction, gaining more fans each week. Grade: B
Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan Vs Rhea Ripley
When Liv Morgan started her revenge tour, I am not sure if anyone thought how it would go. Morgan turned heel and Rhea Ripley face in the middle of the angle, which was great.
To help balance Dominik Mysterio, WWE brought in a shark cage. Seeing Dominik in there alone was better than some matches.
Liv keeps her belt for a little bit longer after a lame disqualification ending with Raquel Rodriguez . Although, it will all crash and burn for Dominik sooner than later. Grade: B
Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns Vs The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu)
Before the bell even rang, we all knew there was a decent chance The Rock could appear and he did. Therefore, many were focused more on the fallout from the tag team match.
I liked how Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns teamed together while doing respect;, after two years feuding. Everyone in the match looked like a star, especially Jacob Fatu and returning Jimmy Uso .
Reigns will continue to work with The Bloodline for another year, including matches with The Rock and Solo Sikoa. Cody Rhodes might finally be done with the stable for a bit as he needs to focus on Gunther at Crown Jewel , but then The Rock returned and that leaves important questions. Grade: A-
Hell In A Cell: CM Punk Vs Drew McIntyre
A year ago, at this time, Drew McIntyre was contemplating joining AEW and CM Punk was not employed by any wresting company. What a huge change for both, as they ended their feud after 11 months at WWE Bad Blood 2024.
In the beginning, it felt like the match was going to drag. Then, once their faces turned into a sea of red, the action got so much better.
Physically, what a daunting match as Punk could not even make it to the back without oxygen. They entered the feud not liking each other, but a bloody Hell In A Cell Match could change both opinions. Grade: A-
